The Story

This project began with pre-production, going over the songs at their rehearsal and sacred space in Oakland, recording the full album with a portable studio. It was then followed by a week at Airship Laboratories, where rituals and altars were brought, hugs and tears were shared, and lots of loving music was captured on what became a magical journey of getting to know these awesome people.

We sure had some fun doing overdubs and all the vocals (and bg vocals!) back at my home studio and then mixing the whole album.

There is a myth that says that I subbed in for drums in a few shows with them after we were done with working on the album. I won’t officially confirm, but that was really fun!
